JOB SUMMARY :

The Staff Accountant is a financial expert who performs accounting tasks and provides financial advice for the organization. Responsible for maintaining financial procedures and records, confirming compliance with IRS rules, reconciling bank statements and balancing ledgers for reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Account reconciliations : Keeping accurate bank account records and financial data to provide insights into a company's financial position.
Financial transactions : Recording an organization's transactions to help companies understand their performance.
Financial statements : Reviewing financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance and generating and distributing annual reports.
Cost and revenue : Recommending ways to reduce costs and increase revenue.
Auditors : Preparing documentation for external auditors.
Team : Work closely with the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES :

Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy.

Sales tax processing and research.

Inventory tracking.

Monthly job analysis and job cost transfers.

Monthly GL reconciliations.

Monthly journal entries.

Perform monthly bank settlements and credit card reconciliation.

Other accounting projects as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES :

Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, GAAP, and best practices.

Good research and analysis skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required.

At least two years experience in accounting or a related field.

Experience in the construction industry preferred.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Accounting software experience.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to read and analyze financial reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

In-office flexible work arrangements as needed

Office Operating hours : 7 : 00 am - 4 : 00 pm

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT :

Minimum to no travel required.

SALARY RANGE :

Salary Range : $65K - 75K, based on qualifications and experience.
