Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, support financial reporting, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency to help drive the team's success.
Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
- Month-End Close Process: Assist in the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports to support timely month-end and year-end closing.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor payments, and monitor customer collections while maintaining accurate records.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and schedules in compliance with GAAP.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and regulatory standards.
- Budget Assistance: Support budget creation and variance analysis processes to provide actionable insights into financial performance.
- ERP System Management: Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for accounting functions, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including payroll, tax, and finance, to ensure cohesive communication and reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for efficiency improvements in accounting operations and implement solutions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Experience with ERP software, such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Ability to handle tight deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset for problem-solving and data interpretation.
- Experience with compliance reporting and tax preparation.
- Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA.
- Familiarity with emerging AI platforms and automation tools in accounting.
