What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Handler Level 1 position at DASI, LLC?

Purpose:
At DASI, the role of the Shipper is to ensure that outgoing shipments are adequately packaged/preserved and meet Customer and/or DASI delivery requirements.
Key accountabilities:
- Pack & Ship merchandise according to established procedures.
- Ensure all parts are packaged properly, so no damage occurs during shipping.
- Check customer requirements or ATA SPEC 300 for special packaging sequence.
- Process air waybills and related shipping documentation and check for accuracy.
- Schedule pickups as required.
- Ensure all documentation is packaged with parts before shipping.
- Image all documents and pictures pertaining to each sales order into our system.
- Communicating with the DASI Pre-Ship Team with shipping related issues, when necessary.
- Responsible for other special projects or duties ass assigned.
Key skills and competences:
- Meet productivity, quality, safety, and attendance requirements, including overtime as required.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Demonstrates pride in own work.
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting.
- Be able to operate warehouse vehicles and material handling equipment.
- Can work in a team environment.
Experience and qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED- Required.
- Experience with domestic and international regulations.
- Knowledge of carrier computer systems such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.
- Haz Mat training is a plus.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and associated software (i.e., inventory management, Ship station and MS Office)
