JOB SUMMARY :
This is a summer internship in our Finance / Cost Control department. The intern will gain practical cost controlling experience in a manufacturing environment, with primary focus on labor hours / cost associated with budgets, forecasts & actuals. The intern will interface with other financial cost controllers and manufacturing personnel including management. The intern will assist in the ongoing analysis and development of Upholstery shop cost tools and metrics, including implementation of a Power BI based earned value tool.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) :
- Assist with weekly cost analysis, cost reviews, and ad hoc analysis
- Assist with reporting using MS Excel and Longview
- Work with financial colleagues and manufacturing personnel to implement the Power BI based earned value tool in the upholstery shop
- Learn or expand knowledge of how financial cost controlling works with and benefits manufacturing management to facilitate shop performance to budget
