What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Business Analyst I position at Data Dimensions, LLC?
Purpose: The Technical Business Analyst's primary objective is to support our customers and internal team members through the implementation of our technology solutions by determining the requirements of a project or program and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners. The BA position will be documentation-focused and provide business & technical requirements, use cases, and testing guides for new customer implementations and/or features and changes within our applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Business Analyst works with stakeholders from all business units and related third parties to define and document business processes, hardware & software requirements for technology initiatives, use cases, test cases, and supporting program documentation:
Define the business problem and primary objectives of new projects.
Work closely with development to QA and troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Acts as subject matter expert for more advanced technical issues and liaison between development and the client.
Interacts with trading partners and direct payers to facilitate and resolve issues.
Identify and create functional requirements and document business use cases.
Coordinate requirements walk-throughs and signoffs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs.
Identify and validate the key business requirements, eliciting requirements.
Create and document test cases. Coordinate walk-throughs and signoffs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that test cases clearly define requirements and acceptance criteria.
Analyze and model the business domain to create a complete picture of workflows and technical requirements fulfilled by existing and proposed software and hardware.
Lead cross-functional business process re-engineering teams and continuous improvement efforts.
Communicating effectively with project staff and stakeholders.
Using practical consensus-building skills to foster productive working relationships with team members, other departments, and external clients.
Following proper escalation procedures to clear project roadblocks and reprioritization.
Maintains quality service by following and enforcing organization standards.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Documenting project specifications and ensuring information is disseminated to appropriate Data Dimensions departments.
Working with application development, help desk, and infrastructure departments to ensure that process & systems documentation is completed and/or updated as required and disseminated to the proper individuals.
Basic understanding of technology concepts.
Prioritize requirements and create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups and design concepts.
Qualification Requirements –
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Able to read, write and speak English.
Successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks and security clearances.
Associate degree or 4 years related experience as a Business Analyst and or/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to function well independently as well as part of a cohesive team.
The Technical Business Analyst will be expected to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously and has ability to drive projects through completion regardless of potential hurdles.
Travel to client offices, vendor offices, Data Dimensions satellite offices as the need arises for project implementations.
Certificates and Licenses:

Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint).
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret various technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Critical thinking, decision-making, and organization skills are crucial for success.
