This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence. This worker selects from methods of shipment based on member's entitlements and destinations. If there are questions, this worker refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. Typical duties include: assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of other records (stored both manually and electronically); verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling and adjusting complaints.
Tasks associated with this position will include, but not limited to, the following: individual couseling for authorized military and civilian members for movement of household goods and vehicles, as authorized in the DTR and JFTR/JTR for both movements via commercial carrier or Personally Procured Moves; assistance for inbound commercial movement of household goods; and assisting members in collection of documentation or referral assistance in resolution of claims for loss or damage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Verify statistical reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Compile information as requested.
- Handle and adjust complaints as required.
- Individual counseling for authorized military and civilian members for movement of household goods and vehicles, as authorized in the DTR and JFTR/JTR for both movements via commercial carrier or Personally Procured Moves.
- Assist for inbound commercial movement of household goods.
- Assist members in collection of documentation or referral assistance in resolution of claims for loss or damage.
- Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers.
- Answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages.
- Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.
- Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints.
- Compute, record and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports.
- Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
- Process and prepare documents, such as business or government forms and expense reports.
- Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings, and record and transcribe minutes.
