Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to join our startup and lead our sales and revenue-generating initiatives as we scale. The CRO will play a critical role in driving sales strategies, building compelling pitches, closing deals, and managing key relationships to ensure sustainable growth. This equity-based position is ideal for a forward-thinking sales leader who thrives in a startup environment and is motivated by the opportunity to help build a company from the ground up.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in sales strategy, pitch development, deal closure, and relationship management, with a passion for supporting entrepreneurial growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive revenue strategies that align with the company’s business goals and growth objectives.
  • Sales Leadership: Lead, mentor, and expand the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Pitch Development: Create and refine compelling sales pitches and presentations to effectively communicate the value proposition to potential clients.
  • Deal Closure: Drive the sales process from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring timely and successful attainment of sales goals.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Sales Operations: Optimize sales processes, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics and insights.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and support for revenue initiatives.
  • Customer Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and improve the overall customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 7 years of sales experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior sales leadership role, preferably within the technology or startup industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Expertise in sales pipeline management, CRM systems, and sales analytics.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to secure high-value deals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing sales teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for working in a high-growth, startup setting.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically to achieve business objectives.

Equity and Compensation:

This is an equity-based role during the startup phase, transitioning to a salaried position upon securing revenue-generating contracts. Specific equity offerings will be presented to the selected candidate.
