Description The Senior Performance Engineer will join a strong test automation team and will be responsible for defining, creating, maintaining, and executing performance tests that support a variety of applications. They will also be incorporating performance validations into the development cycle and driving efforts with development teams to incorporate performance enhancements into the applications and services.
Job Duties
- Design, develop and maintain performance tests, models, and scripts
- Fulfill performance test requests for service and application teams
- Establish and maintain performance monitors within and across solutions
- Diagnose issues and make recommendations for performance improvements
- Ensure test results are input into the results database, monitor trends
- Drive and collaborate to enhance overall Quality Engineering processes and best practices through integration of performance-based tasks, standards and metrics.
- Define and drive innovative automation testing strategies and toolsets into our overall development processes for current and future performance requirements that enhance Quality Engineering processes within the organization
- Work with SCRUM teams to input effective test cases and plans for releases
- Collaborate with team members to define Automation testing best practices
- Develop and maintain core performance test and report framework
- Mentor junior software testers / team members
- Other work-related duties as assigned
Education Required:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent work Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or equivalent work experience
Work Experience
- 5 years working experience in Software Test Automation or 5 years in QA in general and equivalent software test automation experience.
- Experience in writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including (but not limited to) Load Runner.
- Proven track record implementing performance testing strategies and reporting solutions.
- Working knowledge of common software architectures (web/mobile/API/DB).
- Proficiency with cloud technologies (either Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
Skills & Abilities
- Experience with TFS or Azure DevOps, Agile processes, and CI/CD automation.
- Load Runner Cloud (LRC), DevWeb/JavaScript/Typescript, SQL, and NoSQL.
- Git, NPM/package managers, Power BI (DAX/Power Query)
- Grafana/Prometheus
- Datadog
- K6
- Kubernetes / kubectl / k9s
- Azure Stack (Azure Cloud / Azure Devops)
