The Business System Analyst oversee the translation of high-level business requests into system specific functional requirements. This is a highly analytical role where you will use your business and technical knowledge to be the point of contact for the development and QA teams as they work the requests through the SDLC.
This is a remote position that is based in Pittsburgh, PA. This role may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

About the Role:

What You’ll Do:
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze and clarify business requirements and objectives.
- Research and analyze existing system functionality and data structures to provide comprehensive solutions for both IT and business teams.
- Lead solution design and analysis by translating complex business requests into actionable technical requirements.
- Develop detailed functional specifications and system-specific requirements documentation.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support the development lifecycle.
- Facilitate requirements review sessions with IT teams to ensure clear understanding and alignment.
- Serve as primary liaison between development, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC process, providing clarification and guidance on requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3 years of experience in Business/Systems Analysis.
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven experience writing SQL queries across multiple databases (SQL Server, Oracle)
- Experience with ETL tools (Alteryx, Informatica)
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau)
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
- Adaptable and flexible in dynamic environments
- Experience working in both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
- Self-motivated with proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Basic Python knowledge
- Mortgage industry knowledge a plus
