Financial Analyst
Location: Shafter, CA (100% On-Site)
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets (complex formulas).
- Experience with PeopleSoft or other ERP systems.
- Background in Accounting/Finance (degree required).
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory cycle counts, reconciliations, and financial true-ups.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Financial Analyst with a deep understanding of product manufacturing processes and a strong partnership with plant leadership. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and inventory reconciliation. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who identifies risks and opportunities before month-end and collaborates with operations to improve financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with plant leadership to analyze production rates and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Assist in the monthly financial close, preparing reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Perform cost variance analysis, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Inventory & Payroll Management:
- Facilitate inventory processes, including standard cost setting, cycle counts, variance analysis, and financial reconciliation.
- Conduct weekly payroll reviews to ensure accuracy, provide payroll analytics, and train department managers.
Reporting & Internal Controls:
- Ensure accurate financial statements and maintain internal controls, continuously improving processes.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation.
- Validate production reporting across MES/ArcPlan and PeopleSoft.
Strategic & Operational Support:
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routing accuracy.
- Work with operations to implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Take on special projects to analyze KPIs and drive operational efficiencies.
- Participate in safety and compliance programs as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong financial analysis, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and maintain a compliance-focused approach.
Preferred:
- MBA or CMA certification (preferred but not required).
- Experience in manufacturing finance.
- Knowledge of key financial and operational systems such as ArcPlan, Coupa, Maximo, PeopleSoft, TM1, and ADP E-time.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
