Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Consultant to review and assess a complex infrastructure comprising over 50 servers across multiple environments (Development, QA, and Production). The consultant will evaluate the current setup, including Windows and Linux servers hosting ECM and other components such as FileNet, WAS, ICN, IER, ICC, CSS, Datacap, Automation Anywhere etc. The objective is to identify areas for improvement, recommend optimizations, and assess the feasibility of server upgrades and consolidation to enhance efficiency, performance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Assessment:
- Conduct a detailed analysis of the current infrastructure, including all servers (Windows and Linux).
- Evaluate configurations, dependencies, and resource utilization of ECM components like FileNet, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM Content Navigator (ICN), IBM Enterprise Records (IER), ICC, CSS, Datacap, and Automation Anywhere.
- Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and potential performance issues.
- Server Optimization and Consolidation:
- Assess the necessity of each server in the current architecture and provide recommendations for server reduction without impacting functionality or performance.
- Evaluate the potential benefits of upgrading or modernizing existing servers to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Provide recommendations for server clustering, virtualization, or cloud migration to optimize resource utilization.
- Environment Review:
- Analyse the setup and configuration of Development, QA, and Production environments.
- Ensure consistency and best practices across all environments.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining and automating deployment processes.
- Performance and Scalability Review:
- Evaluate system performance under current and projected workloads.
- Provide recommendations to enhance scalability and ensure readiness for future growth.
- Risk and Compliance Assessment:
- Identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps in the infrastructure.
- Recommend strategies to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to security standards and organizational policies.
- Recommendations and Reporting:
- Prepare a comprehensive report detailing findings, including:
- Current infrastructure overview.
- Identified inefficiencies and risks.
- Recommendations for server upgrades, consolidations, and optimizations.
- Suggested architecture changes to improve efficiency, performance, and scalability.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and provide consultation on implementation strategies.
