Job Description
Who Pilot Catastrophe Is:
Pilot Catastrophe Services is an independent insurance adjustment firm headquartered in Mobile, Alabama. Pilot's goal is to provide a better way to handle catastrophe claims. Pilot works to provide a better service for carriers, adjusters, and policyholders alike. Pilot provides capital, human resources, and a 24 hour assistance through customer service representatives, claims processors and administrative support staff. When disaster strikes, Pilot partners with major insurance carriers to serve their communities.
Why this position is open:
One of the central missions of the Pilot IT organization is to find ways to increase the speed and size to which they can scale at a moment's notice, all while being as efficient as possible and committing the least number of errors. Because Pilot's clients build their businesses on being able to respond to catastrophes quickly and effectively, and because they trust Pilot to enable that effort, Pilot is always looking for new tools, technologies, or ways to lower error and lower time it takes to have an adjuster in the field working. As they continue to invest in ways to be more efficient and effective there has been a move to a BYOD process for employees.
That move has created a lot of change that has already been made to the original Intune configuration, and will drive more change over the foreseeable future. As a result Pilot wants to bring in an additional Intune Admin who has a background and deep knoweldge of Intune and other Microsoft Cloud tools to work alongside the existing Intune admin, support an effort to review and reconfigure their existing Intune posture, and help support initiatives around Intune into the future.
What you will do:
As an Intune Admin at Pilot Cat, you will report to the Manager of Support Services and work alongside another Intune admin and a team of support specialists, systems and network team members, and other business resources to ensure the success of the Endpoint management practice at Pilot. The role will be broken into two main phases initially with room for growth, exposure to new technology and opportunities to grow your skillset.
Phase I: With the recent shift to BYOD Pilot is brining in a Microsoft Partner to support an overall review and reconfiguration of their current Intune environement. Their current Intune environement was built and configured around an environement entirely made up of Pilot Cat Owned corporate hardware. As they shift to the BYOD practice they want an Admin who can initial support internal Pilot employees, as well as work alongside the partner doing the review to ensure the best possible retention of SME knowledge, advocacy for Pilot during the review, and an understanding of best practices and policies moving forward. You will work hand in hand with the manager of support, the vendor, Microsoft directly, and several business stakeholders. In addition, as time allows you will work with the current Intune administrator to ensure devices are compliant, that Policies on GPOS in Active Directory are being applied to the cloud for the future, and that Pilot continues to modernize and improve how they deploy resources.
Phase II: As the initial review and reconfig comes to a close this role will settle into more of a "business as usual" posturing, focusing on areas like compliance and policy in Intune, (device based and user based), in supporting the Mobile Device Management and Mobile Application Management programs at Pilot, and ensuring support and success when storms require scale and speed from Pilot IT.
Beyond the day to day requirements of both Phase I and II this role will also be connected to the team that will continue to look for ways to improve Pilots overall efficiency, security, and ultimately success. For example, as the BYOD practice gets stood up, and there is more corporate knowledge and success this team will pivot to support projects like migrating EntraID from on -prem to the cloud, on continuous improvements, and other areas to increase efficiency.
