Job Description
Marina Assistant Harbormaster
The responsibility of the Assistant Harbormaster is to assist the Harbormaster with the highest level of daily dock operations for the Dataw Island Marina.
· Operates equipment including marina forklift and marina travel lift, golf carts, tractors, and boats as required.
· Aids members and guests on the docks as they are departing and returning, assists in launching, retrieving boats, fueling boats, and all on-demand dock needs.
· Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
· Ensure equipment is operated in a safe manner.
· Follows all safety protocols and guidelines.
· In the absence of the Harbormaster, the Assistant will supervise staff, manage assignment and inspection of boat slips and storage, and troubleshoot as needed.
· Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Harbormaster.
· 5 years’ work experience as an Equipment Operator/Dock Attendant or similar role.
· General boat knowledge, handling and terminology.
· Previous customer service employment experience is preferred.
· Boating and mechanical knowledge.
· Ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work well in a team environment
· Comfortable working outside and near the water
· Good communication skills
· Push, pull or lift 50 pounds.
· Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
· Ability to work weekends and holidays.
