DATTCO has a full-time Payroll Manager opening at our headquarters located in New Britain, CT. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and streamlining the activities of the Payroll Department.

- Produce regular key performance indicators and identify trends that warrant discussion and possible action.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and remit as required for all contracted payroll-specific relationships.
- Foster the payroll application vendor relationship.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Coordinate with payroll staff and company division managers to meet weekly deadlines.
- Review edit and exception reports to ensure accuracy.
- Submit retirement plan employee deferrals and employer match.
- Ensure accurate employee compensation records including garnishments and remit other employee deferrals or employer requirements as needed, (e.g. union dues)
- Staff development and supervision.
- Assign and prioritize work.
- Expedite and continuously improve workflow and review for accuracy.
- Identify needs and schedule training as necessary.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and safeguard assets.
- Identify and develop exception reporting.
- Assist in year end and pension plan and workers compensation audits.
- Provide outside audit firm with support for sampling and data requests.
- College degree.
- 5-10 years of recent payroll processing and management experience in a multi-state, multi-location, multi-business automated environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- General accounting knowledge.
- Extensive payroll application experience including implementation, optimization of systems to include payroll, timekeeping, etc.
