As the Logistics Operations Manager your job will encompass different levels of responsibilities that require professionalism and extreme confidentiality. The Logistics Operations Manager will lead the DAVACO logistics team and have responsibility for their development and performance. In addition, the Logistics Operations Manager will support all DAVACO projects requiring consolidations and transportation through all phases of construction, including bid, preconstruction, construction, and close out. The Logistics Operations Manager will coordinate and support all internal and external stakeholders and be ultimately accountable for the successful completion of the project, including the schedule and budget. Duties And Responsibilities
- Charting out the project objectives and plans, setting performance requirements, and selecting project participants.
- Manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques.
- Implementation of various operations through proper coordination.
- Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
- Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking of team expenses, and minimizing exposure and risk in the project.
- Ensure that project activities move according to predetermined schedule.
- Devise the project work plans and make revisions when need arises.
- Communicate effectively with the vendors and partners who are responsible for completing various phases of the project.
- Coordinate the work and schedule of all parties involved in the project.
- Monitor the progress of the project activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams.
- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
- Periodic inspection of partner facilities.
- Accountable for the development and adherence to needed data governance for each project. Ensure project documents are complete.
- Identify the elements of project design and issues likely to give rise to disputes and claims.
- Serve as a key link with the clients and review the deliverable prepared by the team before passing onto client.
- Effectively and professionally communicate with all levels of the organization, as well as field and office personnel, subcontractors, outsource partners and client representatives.
- Review program or project issues and opportunities with supervisor.
- Manage and communicate client concerns, problems, or complaints on assigned programs or projects.
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
- Ability to prioritize work, maintain a cheerful outlook and composure in stressful situations.
- Must be able to plan, execute and close out multiple projects or tasks in short periods of time to the satisfaction of the supervisor and/or client.
- Be able to speak knowledgeably about financials of each project executed, including revenue, costs, and profit margin.
- Compile and prepare final project summary reports for all client initiatives.
- Travel required dependent on client and project needs.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Strong business knowledge with objectivity to represent all interests.
- Excellent communication and organization skills; detail-oriented, articulate, and mature.
- Motivated/pro-active mindset in an exciting and robust work environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to our clients both, external and internal.
- Ability and comfort with communicating to, leading, and delegating to peers, internal and external stakeholders, and to leadership.
- Experience with reviewing and negotiating sub and vendor bids.
- Experience with reviewing and verifying sub and vendor invoices.
- Experience and ability to negotiate scopes of work and final sub and vendor contract amounts, preparing, estimating, and verifying change order preparation and requests.
- Well-groomed with executive attire appropriate for DAVACO and client headquarters.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Management, Logistics/Supply chain, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience working in the field of materials management, warehouse, or logistics.
- Experience communicating directly with clients.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred experience with VISIO, Adobe, Oracle, Procore, and Smartsheet.
- Preferred Project Management Professional (PMP) Certifications a plus
- Must have a good driving record.
