POSITION SUMMARY
A Dave’s Fresh Marketplace Prepared Food Clerk is responsible for preparing food items, along with setting up and maintaining attractive Prepared Foods displays. Prepared Food Clerks ensure a positive image by preparing quality foods and providing excellent customer service.
It is the responsibility of a Prepared Food Clerk to adhere to all food safety practices and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Prior food service experience preferred, but not required
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Must be comfortable with customer facing interactions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment – includes greeting and acknowledging customers, smiling, making eye contact, and all other components of customer service
· Prepare foods with strict adherence to Dave’s Fresh Marketplace recipes and quality standards
· Providing customers with consistent, high quality prepared foods
· Accurately prepares customer special orders
· Cutting gloves must be worn on non-cutting hand while cutting any product. This policy is mandatory
· Examines products for freshness
· Ensuring appealing displays by keeping cases, rotisserie displays, soup bars, etc. clean, well- stocked, and properly rotated while checking and maintaining freshness and quality of products
· Awareness of food allergens; able to answer customer questions regarding food allergens
· Weigh, price, and package foods per customer order
· Take customer orders with accuracy: both by phone and in-person
· Assist with catering orders
· Practice proper rotation and labeling of all products
· Ensures proper temperatures in all cases
· Cleaning of department, equipment, and cases
· Completes all cleaning tasks as needed
· Completes all department logs as required
· Notifies management of pricing discrepancies
· Maintain a positive work environment
· Adherence to department-specific dress code policy
· Strict adherence to all Food Safety & Sanitation procedures
· Follows all safety practices and procedures – I.E. working in a safe manner, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, etc.
· Adhering to all Dave’s Fresh Marketplace policies, procedures, and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention
· Performing other duties as assigned

· Effective communication skills, ensuring excellent customer service
· Proper handling of equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks, and cooking equipment (fryolators and ovens/stoves)
· Willingness to collaborate and work well in a team environment
· Ability to follow instructions; both written and verbal
· Ability to learn a basic knowledge of all products and recipes
· Must be willing to participate in further training – I.E., food safety training
· Can effectively communicate ingredient and food allergen information to customers
· Ability to provide/receive constructive feedback
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
· Reliable and dependable; able to work a flexible schedule – including weekends
· Must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week
· Ability to solve practical problems
· Highly motivated – ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment
