Learning Opportunity:
Are you passionate about shaping the faith and imagination of young minds? Do you have a love for creativity, a heart for children’s ministry, and a desire to create innovative and biblically sound discipleship resources for children and families? We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our Children’s Discipleship Resources team at David C Cook. In this internship, you’ll assist in creating engaging, age-appropriate content that helps children grow in their faith in a fun and interactive way. The internship will provide opportunities to learn and grow through:
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our ministry team to develop fresh, engaging, and biblically accurate lessons and resources for churches and families.
- Content Editing: Review and refine existing curriculum materials for clarity, accuracy, and age-appropriateness, ensuring all content is aligned with our values and mission.
- Creative Input: Contribute to the development of interactive and hands-on activities (such as crafts, games, and videos) that make learning fun and memorable for children.
- Research: Assist in researching new trends in children’s ministry and faith-based education to keep our curriculum up-to-date and relevant.
- Collaboration: Work alongside the children’s discipleship resources team to ideate, edit, create, and evaluate children’s discipleship resources.
Internship Description:
Collaborate with the Wonder Ink editors to content edit, revise, and refine existing curriculum (as well as create new resources that are in alignment).
Collaborate with the Children’s Discipleship Resources team to create new resources for children’s ministry and families.
Participate in children’s ministry research, seeking trends and develop an understanding of the CML (children’s ministry leader) and church’s needs.
Book study. Read the books: 7 Family Ministry Essentials by Michele Anthony, Bridging Theory, and Practice by Mimi Larson and Robert Keeley.
Long-term summer project TBD.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Internship Requirements:
Undergraduate Education: At least one complete year of undergraduate studies in Children’s Ministry, Christian education, Elementary Education, English, or Journalism (or related field).
Experience: Experience in children’s ministry or Christian education preferred.
Specialized Knowledge/Certification: Experience with curriculum development, writing, and editing a plus.
Equipment Knowledge: Microsoft Office, experience with Adobe Creative Suite helpful but not required.
Internship Working Conditions:
- Remote work.
- Flexible hours (with required virtual meetings during daytime hours).
- Weekly hours: 10-15 per week
- Regular check-ins and virtual meetings.
- Must provide your own computer and must have access to internet. You will also need access to Microsoft Office on your computer.
