What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant position at David E. Goodman, M.D., M.S.E.?
Our primary care office located in Novato is looking for a highly-motivated care coordinator/medical assistant to join the clinical team. The office is run by Dr. David E. Goodman. Dr. Goodman received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-M.I.T. Division of Health Sciences and Technology. He completed his medical internship at UCSF in the Department of Medicine. He holds 18 issued and 4 pending US patents and maintains active medical licenses in California and Hawaii. Most importantly, Dr. Goodman loves to deliver compassionate care and mentor ambitious individuals seeking experience in healthcare.
We primarily serve local first responders injured in the line of duty. Our office performs administrative exams for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). We offer a unique opportunity within the medical field as we service a diverse patient base. In this position, you would room patients, collect their subjective complaints and record vital signs. Depending on the encounter, you would prepare medical legal documents, assist in medical charting, vaccinate, and counsel patients on the next steps in care. We have amazing patients and are ultimately looking for a team member who is willing to learn about our patient base and deliver high-quality care guided by kindness and understanding.
While experience in the medical field and/or a bachelor's degree is preferred, we will consider individuals who do not have those experiences, but demonstrate a high degree of motivation and genuine interest in primary care. Given the high volume of immigration patients, speaking a second language is an advantage.
If an applicant does not have experience in the medical field, we ask that you send an email explaining your interest in transitioning into medicine to better understand your career objectives.
