What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Support Specialist position at David Evans and Associates, Inc.?
DEA's Portland, Oregon office is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist. This position will assist computer users with hardware and software questions and problems, fielding telephone calls, instant messaging chat, and e-mail messages from customers seeking guidance on technical problems, diagnosing nature of problems, and assisting customers through problem solving steps and resolution using DEA's helpdesk system. You will complete workstation and laptop machine upgrades and lifecycle replacement.
Under high supervision, this position will make informed decisions on most issues based on established processes and procedures. They will assist with determining company standards for hardware and software purchases.
Responsibilities:
- Desktop purchasing, deployment, and maintenance in other offices as needed.
- Special projects including but not limited to,
- Audio/Visual conference room integration
- NIST compliance initiatives
- Video Conferencing/Zoom Rooms
- Authentication including MFA and Modern Authentication
- Ongoing Information Services projects that arise year to year
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels
- Demonstrated communication and problem solving abilities
- Ability to travel to other DEA offices as necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to be flexible and adaptive within a changing business environment
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent Microsoft Certifications (MCP or better) preferred
- 1-3 years of Information Services experience
- Previous customer support experience
