Job Summary
Founded as an orphanage in 1910. David & Margaret Youth and Family Services has a proud tradition of serving children and families in need that stretches over a century. David & Margaret Youth and Family Services empowers children, youth, and families through culturally diverse services that foster emotional, educational, spiritual, and identity development.
We are currently seeking energetic, enthusiastic and motivated bilingual-Spanish and monolingual youth counselors for our short - stay campus and group home residential program. This is not an STRTP:
Full-time and on-call shifts available
The Counselors are very important members of the team of employees concerned with the youth we serve. They must come to the position with a great amount of dedication, acceptance and understanding.
Counselors are expected to work closely with the program therapists and are under the coordination of the Senior Counselors and the Program Director. Support of agency rules and policy is very important. No employee in the facility has a greater responsibility to set a proper example for the youth we serve, than the Counselor. They must conduct themselves at all times with dignity, selfrespect, and follow our values of care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social science from an accredited institution of higher learning preferred or at least two years of collage work
- Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Must have a valid California driver's license and good driving record.
- Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional, physical examination, and drug testing
Work Environment:
- This job operates in a professional office environment and within the community, using standard office equipment. This position routinely will travel to meetings located within the local communities and may periodically attend trainings in other cities within California and possibly other states.

Salary : $18 - $22
