David Prouty High School within the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District serves the Spencer and East Brookfield, MA communities - providing a comprehensive education to its students. As a small, rural secondary school that emphasizes academic and career readiness, we offer four Chapter 74 DESE Approved Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, numerous Advanced Placement courses, and courses in collaboration with a local college partner. Our close-knit school community fosters an environment where students receive individualized attention, enabling us to meet their academic, personal, and social needs effectively. DPHS offers its students a wide variety of activities such as our winning sports teams and the infamous Prouty Band. With the ongoing support of our residents, we are excited to announce a major school building project that will enhance our educational facilities. This summer, we will open the majority of this new space to support our expanding programs and student body.
As Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to foster the academic and personal growth of all students.
Our new Principal will be someone who:
- Creates and maintains a welcoming and inclusive school climate and learning community.
- Supports a culture that uses data to inform student growth and achievement.
- Oversees the supervision, evaluation, and scheduling of all certified and non-certified professional staff.
- Promotes the social-emotional learning of all students.
- Utilizes research and effective practices to inform instructional decisions.
- Develops, assesses, and maintains existing and proposed school policies and regulations.
- Promotes student engagement and fosters partnerships with families and community members in their learning.
- Collaborates regularly with district administrators and school leaders.
- Maintains accurate records and follows legal procedures regarding these records.
- Develops and implements the school budget.
- Collaborates with faculty members and district leaders on the development, implementation, and assessment of the curriculum.
- Demonstrates and effectively communicates district priorities and values, including a commitment to equity and high expectations for all students.
- Engages with families and community partners to support student learning and opportunities.
- Oversees the continual development and implementation of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
- Maintains our partnership with a local college as we work toward Early College High School designation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

Salary : $115,000 - $135,000
