Davidson Academy is seeking a Christ-following, motivated, organized, detail-oriented, Director of Facilities with a passion for providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment conducive to learning for Davidson Academy’s students. This leadership role is integral to ensuring the school's facilities and support services function effectively for all programs and activities. The ideal candidate has a background in project management and understands the innerworkings of maintaining and improving various facilities.

Davidson Academy is an Infant-12th grade Christian private school located in Nashville, TN. Serving a diverse student population from Davidson County and the surrounding counties, we believe in the Biblical-based instruction of preparing our students for college, life, and eternity. All Davidson Academy personnel must adhere to our statements of faith.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Management

  • Responsible for the management of the Upper School, Lower School, and Preschool buildings as well as all other campus facilities
  • Support faculty and staff facility needs
  • Oversee maintenance, day and nighttime custodial, grounds, and security personnel to uphold high cleanliness and safety standards
  • Conduct routine inspections of all facilities, identifying areas requiring attention or improvements
  • Oversee all third-party facility inspections
  • Ensure vendors provide services in a timely and acceptable manner
  • Oversee outside grounds vendor for mowing and landscaping of the school
  • Contact with third parties that use the facilities
  • Manage all utilities including HVAC control
  • Coordinate building repairs, renovations, and construction projects adhering to applicable codes and regulations
  • Plan with appropriate school personnel for upcoming needs
  • Budget ownership for grounds & maintenance, utilities, and transportation
  • Coordinate grounds clean up as weather and events occur
  • Enable food management services to operate with the space and equipment needed
  • Knowledge of building systems, codes, OSHA regulations and sustainable practices
  • Build relationships with key vendors that service the school’s facilities

Transportation Management

  • Support and oversee Director of Transportation with bus routes, field trips, and athletic transportation and other scheduling needs
  • Inspect buses for maintenance and repairs
  • Utilize alternative transportation as required by different programs
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper licensure / certification of bus drivers
