Title: Technology Technician I
Reports to: Director of Technology
Terms of Employment: 11 Months
Salary: Pay Grade - 64
Purpose:
An employee in this position performs tasks to aid in the ongoing support of staff and students in regards to digital technology in the school setting. Work is performed under the super-vision of the Director of Technology and is evaluated through conferences and observation, quality and quantity of the work performed.
This position will require the employee to support multiple schools. A schedule will be determined for each feeder pattern. Travel compensation will not be provided and this position will report to different locations daily as determined.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair minor issues with Chromebooks, laptops, printer, tablets, and other digital tools. Issue a replacement device to students or staff as needed to eliminate down time for learning.
- Assist students and staff with digital tools used to teach and learn.
- Assist in maintaining equipment such as computers, tablets, document cameras, interactive boards, printers in the building to keep all digital tools in working order to insure a stable digital learning environment.
- Install applications and necessary programs.
- Run updates on all digital devices to ensure a safe environment.
- Keep equipment clean and safe.
- Replace bulbs, ink cartridges, etc. as needed to ensure a smooth digital learning environment.
- Respond to requests from staff in a timely manner.
- Assist staff in basic, responsible use of software and equipment.
- Creates support tickets with IT and prepare equipment for transportation to the Technology Center and return devices to staff and students once repaired.
- Assists in the inventory and updating of the fixed assets inventory of technology equipment, software/software licenses, barcodes, printers, TVs, interactive panels and digital equipment; may also maintain other database information such as equipment specs and warranty support.

Physical Requirements
• Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, hearing, talking and repetitive motions.
• While performing the responsibility of this job, the employee is regularly expected to stand and walk and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20 pounds
Desirable Education and Experience
• Graduation from high school
• One-year training and/or experience in business related operations or clerical related
experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
