About the Opportunity:
Assistant to Director of Prints & Editions | $60k
What you’ll do:
- Prepare consignments and print publishing contract agreements for artists, printers, co-publishers, and private clients
- Act as primary liaison between Prints & Editions and Sales teams
- Prepare presentations and proposals
- Maintain and track individual project budgets
- Liaise with operations, registration, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and efficient
framing & delivery of print inventory - Liaise with other gallery staff regarding all aspects of inventory & exhibition management: production, consignments, shipping, framing, photography, research, marketing, etc.
- Liaise with non-gallery artists & studios to offer artist support
- Assist the Director with exhibition research for print-related exhibitions
- Support Director in fielding and sourcing secondary market print-related requests and managing secondary market consignments
- Track print auctions and maintain relevant spreadsheets
- Assist with yearly print fair participation
- Pre-sale and post-sale support for the Director
- Manage ecommerce post-sale processes and communication with the warehouse
What we would like you to have:
- BA (Art History, Administration, Studio Arts preferred).
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar position in the field of contemporary art.
- Focused, reliable, and exacting attention to detail.
- Must be able to work with team members at all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-departmentally.
- Familiarity with various mediums of artwork; working knowledge of conservation techniques is a plus.
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to work on multiple projects at once.
Position hours are Monday-Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM. The candidate may need to work additional hours during special launches and art world moments. Only qualified candidates will be contacted. Absolutely no calls or walk-ins, please.
