QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
High school diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or satisfactory progress toward G.E.D.Demonstrates and / or develops skills to effectively operate computer and experience with automated record-keeping systems.Demonstrates and / or develops skills related to the position including accounting skills with at least two years of increasingly responsible record-keeping experience.Knowledge Of :
Advanced clerical accounting principles and techniques involved in financial record keeping, monitoring and controlEstimating, projecting and extending financial and statistical dataPreparation of financial statements and comprehensive accounting reportsApplicable sections of Kentucky Administrative Regulations and other applicable laws, rules and regulationsOral and written communication skillsInterpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesyModern office practices, procedures and equipmentTelephone techniques and etiquetteOperation of a computer terminal and other office equipmentBasic mathJOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary :
This position is responsible for the accounting and financial compliance of federal program funding.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform complex and advanced-level accounting duties in the maintenance of assigned accountsPerform responsible record-keeping duties with a high degree of skill and accuracyVerify, balance and adjust accountsProcess and record accounting transactions accuratelyPrepare financial statements, profit and loss statements and other technical financial reporting documentsLearn, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to federal programsOperate office machines including computer equipment, personal computer, accounting software and peripheralsAdd, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accuratelyUnderstand and follow oral and written directionsEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationshipsMeet schedules and time linesWork confidentially with discretionCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingComplete work with many interruptionsType at an acceptable rate of speedMaintain records and prepare reportsTrain and provide work direction to othersPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
