QUALIFICATIONS |
|
Required: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law and minimum one year responsible clerical experience.
Preferred: Experience in a public school district or human resource setting.
Knowledge Of: · Personnel office methods, practices and procedures. · District organization, operations, policies and objectives relating to personnel activities. · Applicable laws regarding assigned personnel activities. · Record-keeping techniques. · Oral and written communication skills. · Telephone techniques and etiquette. · Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. · Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. · Area college/university programs · District personnel policies and procedures. · Practices and procedures related to certificated employment. · Kentucky Certification Options · Methods of data collection and analysis. · Microsoft and Google Suites · Principles and techniques of recruitment and selection of personnel. · Operation of a computer terminal and data entry techniques. |

Job Summary: Perform a wide variety of responsible human resource clerical duties in the areas of recruitment, staff support, onboarding, and orientation, prepare and maintain electronic records, files and related reports, provide information and assistance in person, via email, and on the telephone to District staff, administrators, staff and the public regarding human resource matters.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities: · Complete functions and clerical duties that support the overall mission and goals of the district and human resources department. · Perform effective, accurate and efficient data entry. · Provide information and assistance in person, via email, or on the telephone to District staff, administrators, staff and the public regarding a variety of human resource matters such as position vacancies, benefits, personnel regulations, policies and procedures, and other related matters. · Distribute, receive, record and maintain files on job applications, transcripts, fingerprints, examinations, credentials and other information; review for completeness and compliance; schedule necessary interviews and appointments. · Assist with recruitment goals, initiatives, and events which may include, but not limited to placing advertisements in appropriate media and platforms, registration and materials for recruitment fairs. · Prepare, type, update, maintain and process a variety of forms, reports, bulletins, records, schedules, lists and files according to established policies, procedures, regulations; verify and post information as necessary to assure completeness and accuracy. · Maintain current and up to date knowledge of your assigned HR specialty including but not limited to: teacher certification, substitute staffing, support staff rules and regulations, and coaches. · Provide support to staff, applicants, administrators, and other departments in your assigned specialty area. · Complete required reporting, audits and specialist tasks in your assigned specialty area accurately and efficiently. · Operate office equipment, such as a computer, printer, copier and advanced multi-line telephone. · Maintain electronic records and files and prepare related reports. · Assist with compliance and maintenance of legal and open records requests. · Learn and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures involved in assigned activities. · Maintain complete confidentiality of all human resource matters and the security of confidential materials and information. · Independently problem-solve and determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines and available resources · Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. · Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. · Meet schedules and timelines. · Work independently with little direction. · Perform complex assignments independently. · Perform a variety of specialized and technical duties concerning employment. · Proficiently apply and use multiple HRIS systems. · Collaborate with other HR Specialists on a daily basis and perform necessary duties in their absence or for the purpose of fulfilling the daily operations of the department. · Cross-train with department staff to provide support in other areas of human resources to support the operations of the department. |

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel. The evaluation will be conducted by the Assistant Superintendent for Human Services or designee.
