Davis County Animal Care is currently hiring for a Foster & Rescue Coordinator located in Fruit Heights, Utah. Applications will be accepted through March 20, 2025. Follow us on Social Media
This position is seasonal; employment expected through October 2025. Schedule expected to be 30 hours a week: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (shorter shift), Monday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
Pay Range:
$21.97 - $27.96/hr, salary based on qualifications and directly related experience.
Requirements
High school graduation plus at least three (3) years of full-time related animal control, animal welfare, or closely related experience; an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preference for work experience at an animal shelter or rescue.
Must pass a criminal history background investigation as required by the position.
Day to Day Duties
- Responsible for supervision of foster volunteers and necessary communication with other departments as it relates to the foster program.
- Coordinates recruitment, training and coaching of foster volunteers, and the placement and care of foster animals.
- Serves as the main contact for all foster homes.
- Properly identifies all animals and maintains accurate control of all foster supplies. Determines animal readiness for the foster program by reviewing records, pictures, and other data as needed.
- Assists in tours, lectures, public education programs and special events.
- Maintains current and accurate medical records on each foster animal in the shelter's software.
- Ensures animals are processed through the shelter system quickly and efficiently for surgery and adoption.
- Maintains relationships with partner animal rescue groups throughout the United States.
- Organizes, effectively manages, and responds to large volumes of emails, Facebook messages, phone calls, and other forms of communication from internal and external sources on a daily basis.
- Recruits new animal rescue organizations to partner with ACDC.
