Job Title: Shelter Technician I/II - Public Animal Shelter
Two full time positions available
Location: Kaysville, UT
Job Type: Full-Time, 10 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
Salary and Benefits: $15.69 - $22.31 per hour, based on direct experience

Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Animal Shelter Technicians to join our team. These positions are responsible for providing daily care, feeding, cleaning and the general welfare of the animals at the shelter. No prior experience or formal education is required - just a willingness to learn and a passion for animal care! The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to improving the lives of animals.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Provides food and water for animals.
- Cleans and disinfects animal enclosures, animal cages, kennels, traps and transport carriers. assists in daily routine cleaning.
- Meets and assists visitors who come to the shelter.
- Maintains accurate records of animal care and shelter operations.
- Works with and around all types of animals and animal matter in enclosed areas.
- Performs kenneling of dogs and cats delivered to the shelter; assists with the handling and movement of animals within the shelter.
Qualifications:
No formal higher education or prior experience required - on-the-job training provided.
Level I: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Level II: High school graduation or equivalent plus one (1) year of full-time employment in veterinary science or animal care.
A combination of related education and experience may be considered.
Preference for experience working directly with companion animals in animal welfare, training, or other animal-related fields.
Must have, or obtain within six (6) months of hire date, a valid euthanasia certification including completion of a euthanasia training program.
