Davis County Sheriff's Office is looking to hire full-time Deputies which may include assignments in Patrol, Investigations, and Corrections. Are you wanting a career in law enforcement? This position pays $30.87 - $47.68 hourly depending on experience along with the following benefits:

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A DEPUTY
You start your law enforcement career by completing POST academy. While the physical fitness requirements are challenging, you thrive on that challenge. You are the kind of person that needs to be needed and, boy, are you ever needed here.
In this law enforcement position, you are not just punching a clock. You care about people and, in your profession, you affect people profoundly in two ways. First, you keep the citizens safe, ensuring that the people who might cause them harm don't run free. And, second, you have an opportunity to be a positive influence on those whose lives have taken small detours or even very dark turns.
The only thing that could break you would be having to sit in a cubicle all day pushing papers. You love that your chosen career provides both physical and mental challenges as well as human interaction and new surprises every day. As you work with offenders, you are always respectful but not easily manipulated. Your integrity is impeccable.
Physical fitness testing requirement:
- 21 pushups no time limit
- 29 sit ups in 1 minute or less (substitute for sit ups is high plank for 1.5 minutes)
- 13 inch vertical jump(3 attempts)
- 1.5 mile run in 16 minutes or less.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR DEPUTY

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must become certified as a Special Function Officer (SFO) and/or Basic Correctional Officer
(BCO) through Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) within twelve (12) months of
hire date; must maintain certification and complete required annual training. - Must be at least 19 years old at the time of certification for Special Functions Officer (SFO). This
is a state statute requirement.. - Must be either a United States citizen; or a lawful resident of the United States who has been in the United States legally for at least five years; and has legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preference for applicants with active Correctional Officer certification and experience in the State of Utah.
Preference for bilingual skills in Spanish.
We will sponsor new hires through POST(Peace Officer Standards Training) academy, providing paid training.
CORRECTIONS WORK SCHEDULE
Schedules vary and include overtime. This is a 24/7 operation including nights and weekends.
