Job Description
Elliot is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Construction Estimator to join our team. Are you someone who loves to see projects come to life from the ground up? You won’t just crunch numbers—you’ll be paving the way for incredible projects. As an Estimator, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping how we build, ensuring our bids are competitive, accurate, and set up for success.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Estimate Preparation: Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates by gathering material, labor, and equipment data.
- Project Analysis: Analyze drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to understand scope and requirements.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Request and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Takeoff Execution: Perform quantity takeoffs for materials and resources using software or manual methods.
- Cost Database Management: Help maintain and update cost databases with current market rates and pricing information.
- Collaboration: Work with the estimating team, project managers, and crew leads to ensure estimates align with project goals.
- Proposal Support: Assist in the preparation of proposals and bid submissions, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and supporting documentation for reference.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, B2W ) is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
