GENERAL SUMMARY
In addition to knowledge of the principles and skills needed as a medical assistant, they must possess excellent customer service skills and be compassionate to all. Having good computer skills, an ability to learn quickly, and pay attention to detail are also important qualities.
Essential Tasks:
- Knowledge of the principles and skills needed as a certified medical assistant including proficiency in taking vital signs, venipuncture, and vaccine administration
- Prepare examination rooms for practitioner use by ensuring that appropriate supplies, equipment, and instruments are available and ready on a daily basis
- Assist practitioner with examinations, treatment, and procedures
- Provide accurate and complete documentation in the patient’s chart for all phone messages, refills, and any other information relevant to the patient’s condition and/or treatment
- Answer telephones messages, keep practitioners informed of patient status
- Schedule appointments for testing outside the clinic
- Obtain medication and testing authorization
- Communicate with patients’ other caregivers to give physician orders, or give or take pertinent information regarding patients’ conditions
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Other Tasks:
- Assists with special projects as assigned
- Adheres to all policies and procedures
- Performs other related duties as requested by the Practice Manager
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of one year experience working as a Medical Assistant. COVID-19 vaccinated. Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record program, Epic preferred. Ability to work as a team member and independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience

All patients and staff are required to wear a mask and follow all COVID-19 protocols.
