Davis-Standard is a global leader in the design, development and distribution of extrusion and converting technology. We have an immediate opening in our Pawcatuck, CT location for a Facilities Maintenance Manager. This position will oversee the maintenance department charged with the maintenance and repair of manufacturing machinery, equipment and all electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
- Hires and trains maintenance department staff as required.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of the team.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and equipment through the use of a Preventive Maintenance program, operating and testing systems and equipment, diagnosing and specifying corrective actions, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty components, parts, and systems.
- Develops, implements and utilizes an equipment catalog in the Preventative Maintenance system that catalogs all equipment, designates condition, risk, obsolescence, replacement projections, and works with plant leadership to develop a capital plan.
- Exceeds maintenance operational goals by minimizing down time and improving productivity without sacrificing Davis-Standard quality objectives.
- Exceeds maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information, monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments, identifying problems / requirements, studying performance results, identifying, recommending, and implementing changes and improvements.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by participating in the Davis-Standard Safety Committee, following all policies / procedures, and complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Act as a buyer and purchase all required material and replacement parts.
- Oversee the Back yard coordinating scrap, waste, chemicals, and other materials kept out doors and required for manufacturing operation. Work with scrap venders to negotiate best prices for scrap and other waste materials.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience with building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Knowledge and experience of manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to, metal working equipment such as manual and CNC lathes, milling, welding, forming and shaping equipment.
- Knowledge and experience of equipment electrical requirements, control systems, electrical troubleshooting, PLC’s, and experience or interest in of MES and IIOT including connectivity is greatly desired, but not mandatory.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
- Ability to plan maintenance schedules for equipment and building systems.
- Excellent management, communication, and supervisory skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Preventative Maintenance software.
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose equipment building issues and plan repairs or maintenance and be physically able to perform repairs when needed.

Education and Experience:
- Technical degree or equivalent required.
- BS and 2 years relevant experience managing a maintenance team
- AS and 5 years relevant experience managing a maintenance team
- 10 years relevant experience managing a maintenance team in a heavy Industrial environment can be used in place of a technical degree.
