POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing operational equipment and facility support systems are maintained in optimal condition. Production equipment includes high-speed automated production and packaging lines, blending and mixing equipment.
Clean, Temperature and humidity controlled environment.
- Direct reports include approximately 14 machine maintenance technicians (both mechanical and electrical). The Maintenance Manager reports to the Director of Manufacturing.
- Direct and oversee the activities of maintenance personnel; train and develop staff to ensure they have the appropriate skillset to meet company needs
- Steer successful Preventive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement programs for the Maintenance Department
- Recommend process and equipment upgrades where necessary in coordination with the Engineering department; coordinate equipment installation with engineering.
- Responsible for planning budgets and managing capital expenses in support of
- Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Prioritize and coordinate building services and projects; secure and manage contractors, suppliers as necessary. Manage utilities costs and contracts
- Ensure compliance with federal and state environmental regulations regarding wastewater discharges, hazardous waste storage and disposal, and hazardous material storage.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations (state and federal) safety policy development, safety training, maintaining the company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) manual.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in progressively responsible management position within the consumer products or related industry.
- Proven track record in the maintenance and repair of high-speed automated production equipment and facility support systems.
- Proven track record in successfully managing capital projects from concept to completion.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of environmental and safety regulatory compliance.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics; proficiency in procedure writing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills to foster teamwork with department heads and all plant personnel; strong leadership desired.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; mechanical, civil or package engineering preferred.
