HR Generalist Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Facilitate new hire benefit enrollment to ensure a smooth transition for incoming employees and newly acquired teammates.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records in HR systems, ensuring data accuracy.
- Partner with department leaders to support talent management initiatives such as performance reviews, training, and development.
Benefit Reconciliation Responsibilities:
- Manage weekly and monthly benefit reconciliation by comparing carrier invoices with employee benefit enrollments to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure benefit deductions are processed correctly and align with system records.
- Prepare and maintain benefit reports, identifying trends, errors, or gaps in the reconciliation process.
- Support open enrollment processes by coordinating communications, tracking enrollments, and assisting with system updates.
- Provide training and support to employees on benefit offerings and related enrollment or claim processes.
Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in HR initiatives, projects, and process improvements.
- Assist in creating and updating HR policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, benefit regulations, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a related HR role.
- Strong background in benefits administration and reconciliation is required.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certifications are a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, especially in managing and reconciling benefit data.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, benefits programs, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Salary range: $52,000-$60,000 depending on experience.
