Early Childhood Assistant Teachers in our Kindergarten
Are you passionate about working with young children? We are looking for qualified individuals to join our school as Early Childhood Assistant Teacher for the 2024-25 school year and beyond! Our licensed program has shifts that range between 7:30-1:30pm. We offer rhythmical schedules with continuity of working with a lead Waldorf trained teacher in a preschool or kindergarten class. We offer additional time for meetings and training as needed. Reliability is essential.
The Assistant Teacher will assist the Lead Teacher and children with daily activities. They will work under the supervision of our experienced Lead Teacher to provide a safe, loving, nurturing environment for children in one of our Early Childhood Classrooms. We are looking for assistant teachers who have strong communication skills, knowledge of child development, and an interest in implementing curriculum and activities, following the example of the Lead Teacher. Assistant job duties include daily food preparation, supporting children through transitions and in daily activities and maintaining a clean classroom environment. Waldorf training or experience is preferred. We will consider candidates who have six months of work experience in a licensed Child Care Center or similar program and a minimum of 12 ECE credits.
Applicants should enjoy working with a team, be willing to take on new responsibilities and classroom chores, be prepared for a physically active school day (outside, in all weather conditions), enjoy supervising children, and be flexible with their work schedule as needed.
Our school offers a Waldorf curriculum for 1st through 8th grade, a licensed child care center that has two preschools, two Kindergartens and an after school program. We have a strong and experienced and dedicated faculty. Our parents are invested in their children's education and in the school, bringing great enthusiasm and energy to any project. We are accredited by and a full member school of AWSNA [Association of Waldorf Schools of North America] and WECAN [Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America].
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and Child Abuse Reference Check (CAIC) background clearance. Must possess current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate. Compensation: Varies depending upon experience and qualifications. Minimum of 12 ECE credits.
We are also always adding to our on-call substitute list. After this position is filled, we may offer part-time/on-call hours in the morning and afternoon.
