Job Purpose and Overview

Dawn’s Production Summer Student Program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of the Global Bakery Industry. With over 100 years of expertise, Dawn provides a platform for interns to experience our vibrant company culture, embrace our core values, and gain valuable knowledge for their future careers.

Dawn’s Production Summer -Student will benefit from:

This Summer Student Program is April – August 2024

Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday 6AM -2:30PM

What will you do as a Production Summer - Student at Dawn Foods?

• Perform all functions of the role
• Assure all product produced meets the product specifications, food safety and regulatory requirements
• Adhere to high performance standards in housekeeping, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), American Institute of Baking (AIB), International Food Standard (IFS) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements
• Responsible for the accurate operation of computer system as required in production processes
• Operates auxiliary equipment as needed for each respective function
• Operates in a safe manner according to manual, training and production paperwork instructions to ensure high quality and food safe product
• Responsible for communicating to lead or supervisor any quality, safety, scheduling and food safety issues within their department or the plant
• Responsible for maintaining workstation and keeping it clean and organized
• Perform all the above tasks in a safe manner by following company GMP’s, SOP’s and safety regulations
• Team Members will be required to complete food safety and personal safety training and Adhere to the Food Defense and Security functions within the facility
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and supports the Circle of Excellence Bullet pointed list of the duties associated with the role.

What Does It Take to be a Production Summer - Student at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problem solving in variable situations
• Must be able to work well with others or independently
• Computer skills helpful
