ABOUT THE ROLE
A Bartender is responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests at events, while preparing and serving beverages in a timely and efficient manner. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to local and state liquor laws. With extensive knowledge of common drinks, cocktails, beers, and wines, you will be in charge of managing drink orders at our events/banquets.
Essential Duties:
- Be able to prepare and serve a variety of drinks, including cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Properly set-up and breakdown of the event bar(s); including removing all inventory and all beverage equipment to proper storage.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines as set by hotel and local authorities.
- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
- Ability to bend, stand, walk, kneel, grab, hold, reach, and repeat motions.
- Ability to lift stock up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Present in professional appearance in accordance with the banquet dress code.
Specific Requirements of this role:
- Mix and serve alcohol and non-alcohol drinks for guests following standard recipes and using company standardized proportions.
- Remain knowledgeable about classic cocktails and make signature cocktail recommendations to guests.
- Always maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Serve alcohol beverages responsibility, request identification, and adhere to all company alcohol service policies and procedures.
- Read and understand banquet event orders, including timeline and beverage requirements.
- Maintain accurate in and out-log of liquor during events.
- Maintain a positive attitude and teamwork skills.
- Clean and store bar equipment and bar stock.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong knowledge of state and local liquor laws.
- At least 1 year of front-of-house experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant required.
- Food handlers permit required.
- ABC Certification required.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
