What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant Code Compliance Division position at Dawson County Government?
This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Code Compliance Division and will include, but not be limited to: answering the phone, greeting customers, understanding the responsibility of County and State departments for proper re-direction of calls, creating daily code cases, maintaining a code compliance calendar, dispatching daily code cases to the field via text, serving as the hub of communications for the code enforcement officers serving in the field, responds to all open records requests, responsible for helping to maintain the Code Compliance social media pages, and responsible for understanding the requirements and expectations for the permitting of Short Term Rental Bed and Breakfast (STRBB) permits with a sole responsibility of daily research and maintenance to ensure that permittees maintain compliance of their permits.
Job Requirements:
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent plus a minimum of two years’ experience in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides a sufficient level of understanding of the essential duties of the position. Specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with an associate degree in a related field preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication, data entry and organizational skills. Skilled in operating modern office equipment and knowledgeable in office procedures and administrative methods. Microsoft Office proficient. Possess a valid Georgia driver license and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Applicant must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
