Litigation Intellectual Property Associate Attorney

Day Pitney’s Intellectual Property group is seeking an associate with 2-4 years of trademark and copyright litigation experience to join our growing team in our Hartford, CT office.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with all aspects of intellectual property and complex commercial litigation matters, including matters involving claims under the Lanham Act and the Copyright Act, and claims for common law trademark infringement, breach of contract, and breach of licensing agreement.

Candidates should possess significant discovery experience (written discovery, document production, and depositions), research and writing experience (pleadings and motions), and experience with pre-litigation brand protection and enforcement strategy (i.e., cease and desist letters). Experience with trademark disputes before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), and online trademark and copyright enforcement, including preparing takedown notices and UDRP complaints, is a plus.

The team handles all types of patent, trademark, copyright, false advertising, right of publicity and internet-related litigation, as well as disputes regarding intellectual property licensing agreements.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of solid trademark and copyright litigation experience
• Excellent technical, professional and client service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
• Team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration
• Self-starter with excellent client service skills and strong attention to detail
• Connecticut Bar admission in good standing (required)
• Massachusetts Bar admission in good standing (a plus, but not required)
