Job Description
Overview of Daybreak and the Development Office
Founded in 1975, Daybreak is the sole provider of services for vulnerable and / or homeless youth and young adults age 10-24 in the Miami Valley. We serve over 800 youth each year through four main areas of engagement : emergency shelter, transitional housing, mental health services, and employment and education services. We also have a day shelter called the Drop-In Center for youth who are living on the streets while they await space to open in the shelter or transitional housing. In addition, we serve homeless and vulnerable LGBTQ youth through David's Place and have staff embedded in the adult shelters to find youth who may wish to be served at Daybreak.
The development office raises a little over $1 million annually. As the sole provider of services for homeless youth in the Miami Valley, Daybreak's strategic plan calls for aggressive growth in private funding in order to meet the needs of the growing number of at-risk and homeless youth in our community.
Daybreak is also preparing for its 50th anniversary in 2025, which may include a special campaign.
