Position Summary: Directs curriculum and instruction programs that advance best practices and academic standards. Provides high-quality professional development and program support services. Oversees and coordinates district gifted services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, documents, and develops curricular alignment.
- Works with staff to develop standards-based curriculum guides and high-quality courses of study.
- Supervises the identification of and services for gifted and talented.
- Oversees the district's enrichment and career education programs.
- Assists in screening requests by agencies and individuals who want to do surveys or duties involving staff and/or students. Makes a recommendation to the Superintendent.
- Helps manage testing programs. Establishes uniform procedures to ensure accurate recording and analysis of testing data. Identifies emerging student needs, relationships between interventions, achievements, and time
- Helps staff identify and use technology resources that complement teaching styles, enhance proficiency, and build confidence.
- Identifies opportunities for staff to share timely tangible assessment data with parents/guardians.
- Implements district and ODEW initiatives that support continuous improvment in student participation and achievement
- Manages program compliance with accreditation, contractual, legal and regulatory requirements
- Models teaching techniques. Helps staff improve pupil management and instructional skills (e.g., coaching, communities of practice, consultation, mentoring, etc.)
- Recommends courses of study. Monitors grade advancement requirements.
Qualifications:
- Ability to develop and implement clear pathways to successfully achieve program and department objectives
- Acts according to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
- Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OPES 2.0) and Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES 2.0) credentialed evaluator status
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and willingness to take on challenging tasks
- Embraces high-performance standards (e.g., engagement, proficiency, resilience, etc.)
- Holds/maintains required Ohio State Board of Education credentials.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.
Education & Experience:
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Holds a current Ohio administrative license
- Evidence of successful administration experience in school leadership, curriculum, instructional leadership, etc.
