General Description: The Secretary to the Superintendent will provide executive secretarial support for the Superintendent and, as needed, Public Information Coordinator, including but not limited to, greeting guests for the central office area, filing, record keeping, project management, the use of software programs such as word processing, database, spreadsheets, graphs, and presentations. The secretary will perform in an orderly, efficient, and professional manner to ensure the best education possible for the students of the MVCTD.
Qualifications: High school graduate
- -Associate Degree in Business/Secretarial Studies preferred, but not required
- Five years of office work experience with a minimum of two years in an educational institution, required
- Exhibit emotional stability in the performance of duties under stressful conditions, keen observation skills, and a good memory for names, faces, and incidents; demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills, personal credibility and integrity
- Demonstrate ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Ability to take initiative, display tact, maintain and communicate a professional demeanor during times of stress and have the willingness to learn new duties
- Machine transcription and note taking experience necessary
- Extensive knowledge of business English, spelling, and business math
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written directions
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Experience on computers and ability to use applicable hardware and software
- Flexibility to adapt work schedule to meet the evolving needs of the Superintendent’s Office
- Perform typing skills at 65 WPM
- Demonstrates professionalism through appropriate attire and demeanor, serving as a positive role model for students, staff, and the community
Starting Date: April 28, 2025
Length of Contract: 260 Days
Salary: Schedule E ($51,000 to $82,620)
