What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Practice Provider (CNP/CNS/MPA-C) for Inpatient and Outpatient Neurology position at Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders?
This is a full time (Monday-Friday, no holidays, no weekends) position operating out of Highland District Hospital. This consists of a full time outpatient practice, collaborating with DCND, Inc attending physicians, with time allotted in the day to also round on inpatient neurology patients. Consideration can be made to individuals that are looking for a part-time 2-3 days per week position, in lieu of full-time, 5 days per week.
BASIC FUNCTION:
To provide an appropriate medical environment to assure high quality care. Has access to patient’s charts to perform job functions listed below.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sees patients on time for their appointments in office and completes hospital rounds if required.
- Assist physician with procedures as needed, ie. Botox treatments, lumbar punctures, punch biopsies, injections, education, patient care, etc.
- Responds to patient phone calls in order of importance, to evaluate medical problems/questions and document chart notes accordingly.
- Discuss patient care with attending physicians in person, through charting and/or our paging system.
- Refill Prescriptions.
- Creates/Review orders, labs/test requests, and follow up as needed.
- Report adverse reactions to medication or treatments.
- Completes encounter documentation within 3 days
- Follows all Meaningful Use requirements.
- Report clinical lab values to patient/address with nursing.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Complete paperwork as necessary.
- Completes all billing as necessary and on time.
- Detailed correspondence and documentation for all patients/caregivers/ providers.
- Reports absences/personal appointments/time off in advance to the HR Director Understands that all other requests given to HR Director may result in denial depending on scheduling calendar.
- Able to understand and follow DCND policies and procedures as directed Physician Owners.
- Able to change, as the needs of DCND warrants such change.
- Understands/assists each DCND physician when needed in a professional manner.
- Able to work independently and as a team in a professional and respectful manner.
- Attends all mandatory EMR, OSHA, NCQA, PQRS, HIPAA, CPR training session. If not able to attend, understands that it will be made up on own time.
- Able to travel to multiple locations
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
