Offering more than 100 certificate, associate and bachelor’s degree programs, Daytona State College (DSC) has responded to the education and workforce training needs in our region for more than 60 years. The college enrolls nearly 25,000 students annually at its seven instructional sites, with graduates serving in critical fields including health care, emergency services, business, education, hospitality, engineering, technology and more.
We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as the Director II.
The Director II for the Center for Business & Industry (CBI) is responsible for the administration and delivery of revenue generating customized training, courses, and workshops to non-credit audiences. The position provides support, on behalf of DSC, to economic development teams and business entities that focus on business attraction and retention all to meet the existing and emerging needs of businesses and agencies in Volusia and Flagler counties. The Director II offers leadership and guidance to other DSC continuing education units and provides administrative oversight for the continuing education website updates, registration, and billing procedures. The Director II manages campus facilities use contracts for entities external to
DSC, and training grants and contracts assigned to and/or developed by the CBI. The position is responsible for recruiting faculty/trainers and staff supervision and evaluation.
Required Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, or a closely related field. This position also requires at least four (4) years of relevant experience. Experience in sales strongly encouraged.
Salary: This is a twelve (12) month administrative position with a competitive salary dependent upon knowledge, skills, and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- The Director II is responsible for building and sustaining business relationships, creating customer networks, developing, and managing a strategic growth business plan for the CBI, cultivating existing markets and programs, identifying new markets and programs, managing budgets, managing grants as developed/assigned, and generating and delivering sales that are measured against revenue goals.
- Negotiates contracts, develops, and monitors budgets, recruits trainers, develops class schedules and finalizes/communicates instructional deliverables. Ensures the preparation of training materials, secures/confirms training locations, communicates evaluation criteria and supervises the appropriate data collection and other important details associated with offerings, provides oversight for, and monitors the assignment of CEU’s. Responsible for staff supervision.
- Engages the networks of professional associations, content providers, regulatory agencies, and other potential customer sources, to ensure CBI visibility and to attract and engage opportunities for customized training and/or pre-licensure and mandated continuing education.
- Fields all requests for DSC facilities use and where appropriate, manages the facilities use agreement processes and protocol as appropriate.
- Provides leadership for all aspects of marketing to include social media platforms.
- Works closely with CareerSource Flagler/Volusia.
- Introduces and assists eligible companies with Quick Response Training applications.
- Maintains ongoing working relationships with campus colleagues to ensure protocols are adhered to relative to marketing, registrations (in and out of the Active Directory), student data collection and reporting, and/or planning/space logistics.
- Offers leadership and guidance to other DSC continuing education units and provides administrative oversight for the continuing education website updates and registration and billing procedures.
