Order Picker/Packer

Job Summary:

The Picker and Packer is responsible for accurately selecting products from the warehouse shelves based on order details and ensuring those products are securely packed for shipping. The role requires attention to detail, good organization skills, and the ability to meet productivity targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Order Picking:
• Retrieve products from shelves or storage areas based on order forms or instructions.
• Ensure accurate selection of items (correct product, quantity, and quality).
• Use equipment such as barcode scanners to track and manage inventory.
• Packing Orders:
• Pack items in boxes or other shipping containers to ensure safe delivery.
• Use appropriate packing materials to avoid product damage during transport.
• Label packages with correct shipping information and documentation.
• Inventory Management:
• Maintain accurate records of items picked and packed.
• Assist in inventory checks and cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
• Report any discrepancies or damaged products to supervisors.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect products for defects or damages before packing.
• Ensure that all orders are complete and meet quality standards.
• Shipping Preparation:
• Organize packed orders for shipment and ensure they are ready for dispatch.
• Assist with loading and unloading shipments as needed.
• Safety and Cleanliness:
• Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory systems.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills for working with team members and supervisors.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution setting is a plus (but not required).

Work Environment:

• Warehouse or distribution center setting.
• May require standing, walking, and lifting for long periods.
• Use of warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts may be required.

Working Hours:

• Full-time
• Shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the company's needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Holidays
• Weekends as needed
