What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pricing Specialist position at DBI Staffing?
The Pricing Specialist provides financial and data analytics to support informed and profitable pricing decision-making. This includes to support formal RFP/tenders, pricing negotiations and development of matter budgets and AFA proposals. In addition, the role will support monitoring and reporting on pricing performance and trends.
As a member of the Strategic Pricing Team, the Pricing Specialist will support the development of analytical tools and reporting systems to optimize alternative fee arrangements, monitor performance against budgets, and assess the financial impact of pricing arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Develop fee arrangement proposals for existing and prospective clients, which includes alternative arrangements and creative pricing solutions;
- Supporting the design, development and implementation of standardized pricing and budget templates for different types of legal matters, including developing guidelines and frameworks to be applied;
- Design and implement bespoke economic models to project the financial impact of proposed fee arrangements, value-based pricing and alternative staffing models;
- Track pricing decisions and analyze the performance of existing fee agreements to identify opportunities for future improvement;
- Undertake extensive financial modelling and analysis relating to clients and matters, including data mining, transformation, cleansing and reconciliation;
- Ongoing preparation of client, matter and portfolio reporting;
- Assist in the development of client/matter dashboards and reporting, whilst ensuring data governance and integrity across all systems and platforms;
- Undertake user acceptance testing (UAT) pertaining to Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools and systems when required; and
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CPA a plus
- 3 years’ experience as a pricing analyst or in a similar role within a law firm;
- Advanced MS Excel and Access skills, including SQL and VBA experience (highly regarded);
- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio;
- Specialized in Business Intelligence (and Business Applications) development;
- Legal or professional services experience essential;
- Excellent analytical skills; and
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
