What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer position at DBSI Services, Inc.?
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join our team at DBSI Services, Inc.
About the Role
This exciting opportunity involves working closely with our design, powertrain, and body engineering teams to optimize vehicle comfort and performance. As an Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and mitigating noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) specifically for complete vehicle and powertrain systems.
You will utilize advanced simulation tools like NASTRAN, Abaqus, and LMS Virtual.Lab to optimize NVH characteristics, focusing on road noise, wind noise, isolation, and transmissibility to improve ride quality and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct comprehensive NVH simulations for complete vehicle and powertrain systems, identifying and reducing sources of noise and vibration.
- Develop and refine NVH models for vehicle and powertrain components, including detailed analysis of engine vibrations, exhaust noise, and road-induced vibrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate NVH mitigation strategies across the entire vehicle, addressing specific areas like body-in-white, chassis, and powertrain mounting systems for optimized isolation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform virtual testing and validation for NVH performance under diverse driving conditions, including rough road surfaces, high-speed scenarios, and idle states, to evaluate isolation effectiveness and reduce cabin noise levels.
- Interpret simulation results to enhance specific NVH aspects, such as wind noise, road noise, and powertrain isolation, and provide actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Correlate simulation models with real-world testing data, refining predictive models for complete vehicle and powertrain NVH behaviors, including airborne noise transmission and vibration transmissibility.
- Document NVH analysis findings and develop best practices for continuous improvement, focusing on road noise reduction, wind noise management, vibration isolation, and transmissibility reduction across the vehicle and powertrain.
Requirements
- Proficiency in NVH simulation tools like NASTRAN, Abaqus, and LMS Virtual.Lab for vehicle and powertrain NVH applications.
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, road noise, wind noise, isolation, and vibration transmissibility.
- Familiarity with automotive NVH standards, best practices, and benchmarks for complete vehicle and powertrain systems.
- Experience in evaluating and optimizing body sealing, insulation, and component mounting for enhanced NVH performance.
