What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director position at DC Burger?
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Human Resources to oversee HR operations for two thriving restaurant brands across Northern California and Washington, D.C. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will be based onsite in the D.C. area and play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing HR strategies that support business growth, foster a positive workplace culture, and ensure compliance with all employment laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business goals for both brands and regions.
- Employee Relations: Foster a positive and productive work environment through proactive employee relations, conflict resolution, and team engagement initiatives.
- Training & Development: Create and manage training programs that promote professional growth, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Performance Management: Lead performance review processes, coaching, and employee development initiatives to drive high performance.
- Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; regularly review and update HR policies and procedures.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee benefits administration, compensation structures, and employee wellness initiatives.
- Culture & Engagement: Champion and cultivate a strong and supportive workplace culture.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations, Finance, and Executive teams to align HR strategies with organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HR leader, preferably at the Director level or higher.
- Restaurant and/or hospitality industry experience highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of multi-state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification a plus).
