The DC Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) provides contracting services for client agencies and offices in the District. The mission of OCP is to partner with vendors and District agencies to purchase quality goods and services in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost, while ensuring that all purchasing actions are conducted fairly and impartially. OCP manages the acquisition of over $5.7 billion in goods, services, and construction annually on behalf of 78 District agencies. OCP is powered by a diverse team of innovative professionals committed to helping our client agencies reach their goals and accomplish their missions. In addition to contracting and procurement services, OCP’s Surplus Property Division collects, manages, and reuses District- owned and federal surplus property.
The Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist that report to the Information Technology Manager. Under general supervision, this level of specialist may perform as a team lead in supporting technology related requests from the agency and end users while providing technical support which includes, but is not limited to: troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing desktops and laptops, including hardware and software, network, and equipment problems ,imaging computers, mapping drives, logging incoming tickets and maintaining the ticketing system, and processing and updating inventory management. This position may also serve as a project manager, which includes working with OCP managers to assess operational processes to document where automation may improve service delivery, accuracy of data
Qualifications And Education
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
A minimum of four (4) years of related experience in one of the following areas: accounting, finance, procurement, information technology, project or program management, or a related field. Such experience includes skills and abilities to; collect, compile and analyze large volumes of data, apply commonly used query language, and demonstrate advanced knowledge of IT Ticketing Systems. The incumbent must also demonstrate excellent; 1) organization and coordination skills 2) critical problem-solving skills, 3) customer service techniques, and 4) communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Conditions of Employment
While on duty, District employees are prohibited from possessing, dispensing or being impaired by controlled substances, including alcohol. All District employees are subject to drug and alcohol testing when there is a reasonable suspicion of impairment or following any on-duty accident or incident involving injury to person or property.
Working Conditions/Environment
The work is sedentary, but there is some walking required during visits to contractor facilities.
