Job Summary:
DCARA is seeking a Community Empowerment Services Manager who will collaborate with our team to empower Deaf* clients by providing information, resources, and tools that will enable them to remain integral members of their communities. The ideal candidate will lead the Community Empowerment Services department, overseeing staff, ensuring client services, and building community connections through innovative programs and outreach.
Essential Job Functions:
- Direct Management Duties:
- Provide training to Community Empowerment Services staff on topics including communication assistance, information and referral, and enrollment procedures.
- Lead staff in recruitment and enrollment of clients, data entry in Salesforce, and using orientation packets for new clients.
- Conduct staff performance reviews, provide feedback, and support them in professional development.
- Participate in virtual and in-person meetings to review policies and procedures, encouraging input from staff.
- Ensure compliance with contracts and track departmental goals through monthly reports.
- Supervise Client Services:
- Actively recruit clients through flyers, brochures, vlogs, and other media.
- Oversee client inquiries and concerns, providing orientations and presentations both in person and virtually.
- Ensure accurate client enrollment and documentation using Salesforce.
- External Services:
- Deliver presentations and training to external agencies regarding community empowerment and Deaf* client needs.
- Other Job Functions:
- Collaborate with other DCARA departments to assist clients with communication access and emergency needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and agencies to advocate for Deaf* community services.
- Manage social media content and vlogs, ensuring current and relevant information is shared.
- Attend and lead mandatory meetings and trainings, including health and safety, workplace violence prevention, and others as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- BA Degree or 3 years of documented experience in supervision and management in either Community Empowerment Services, Social Work, Social Services or related fields
- Knowledge of current issues and laws protecting the rights of Deaf* individuals, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse racial, economic, linguistic, cultural, religious, disability, and communication backgrounds.
Desired Education and Experience:
- Experience with writing comprehensive reports.
- Knowledge of social justice issues affecting the Deaf* community.
- Cultural competence and experience working within the Deaf* community.
- Experience in using Salesforce for client enrollment and data management.
